Resources
We are here to help.
Here at Southpaw we continually work closely with therapists all over the UK and Europe to provide you with the best information on Sensory Integration and Multi Sensory Environments. Whether you are a parent/caregiver or an Occupational Therapist we hope that you will find up to date, thought provoking and informative articles throughout our website. We will always try and keep the content current and dynamic to re-enforce our commitment to you.
Sensory Integration Resources
Sensory integration products come in many forms, addressing specific sensory inputs, sensory integration difficulties and supporting sensory play and sensory integration therapies.
As they have such a wide range of applications, when looking to learn more about sensory integration products and equipment it’s vital to ‘start at the beginning’: understanding what sensory integration is – and how sensory integration difficulties can be treated with therapy that uses such equipment. Multi-Sensory Environments
Adults and children with multi-sensory impairments experience the world in a way that is different to most and find that development and sensory input - and confidence - are impacted as a result. However, the right multi-sensory environment and equipment can empower users to develop confidence, becoming more focused, calm and regulated. Through exploration of the environment and toys within it, physical skills, cognitive development and communication and social skills can flourish. Occupational Therapist Resources
We love OT's and what they do for the benefit of their clients. Without their hard work, support and enthusiasm, our equipment would not be as effective. Click here to read more about the therapies we support and find great articles from industry leading experts.
Parent & Caregiver Resources
We understand the journey can sometimes be difficult, especially with children with different abilities and needs. We will always do what we can to support parents and caregivers. Here at Southpaw we have a wide range of tried and tested products, but we understand that before a product can be effective, you must understand your childs sensory needs and preferences. Here is a lot of information which may help. Click here.
